New Chamber Office for Mt. Juliet
For years now the little house located at 46 W. Caldwell street has been the home of the Mt. Juliet Chamber of Commerce. That quaint little office served as the liaison for Mt. Juliet businesses long before our fair city welcomed Providence Market Place, Under Armour, and a plethora of store fronts that transformed the small community into the city we see today. Anita Spicer, Director of Membership at the Chamber explained “We’ve outgrown our little building and it was time to step up our game.” This fall on September 1, 2016, the new chamber of commerce building is scheduled to open. “We feel it will be the nerve center of business activity in West Wilson County” said Anita. “The new 4,000 square foot chamber space will allow our programs to come home”. Currently programs such as Chamber NetWORKS, Women In Business, and others have to meet at various venues around town in order to accommodate the attendance. Now, with a meeting space that will seat 65 persons, these programs will be able to meet at the chamber office.
The meeting space is equipped with state-of-the-art AV technology for presentations, a kitchen for catered-in meals, and air walls so that multi-events can take place at the same time. The chamber will also have business meeting rooms in addition to staff offices, a small conference room, and will feature 1 gig internet service. Other tenants will occupy the building in addition to the chamber but the building will bear the name of the Chamber of Commerce.
As of February 26th the pad is ready and construction is in full swing 7 days a week.
The building design may look metropolitan, but inside, the faces will be the same and the quaint home town spirit that served in the little house on Caldwell street is sure to be found at the new address. Because after all, it isn’t brick and mortar that make a chamber great, it’s the people!
